George M. Caan is the owner of Caan Strategic Consulting which provides management consulting services to improve outcomes and help organizations achieve their goals.

Prior to this Mr. Caan was the executive director of the Washington Public Utility Districts Association (WPUDA). The association’s member utilities provide nonprofit electricity, water, sewer, renewable natural gas, hydrogen, and wholesale telecommunications service to 1.7 million people in Washington.

Mr. Caan served for 15 years as the executive director of the Colorado River Commission of Nevada, the state agency responsible for Nevada’s allocation of water and hydropower from the Colorado River. He also served as the deputy director of the Washington State Energy Office where he was involved in energy policy issues arising out of the changes to the Columbia River operations and the Bonneville Power Administration.

Mr. Caan has served on a variety of Boards and Committees including the American Public Power Association, Colorado Energy Distributor’s Association, the Consumers Federation of America and Washington State’s Energy Strategy Committee.

Mr. Caan is a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He received a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University. He is a registered professional engineer in the states of Nevada and Washington.
